Melissa is the Chief of Staff for CareerWise New York, having previously served as National Program Manager for CareerWise USA. Melissa project managed the successful launch of both CareerWise New York and CareerWise D.C. After graduating from Pomona College, Melissa left for Greece, where she developed a program to support students with learning differences at the American Farm School and facilitated the launch of a peer mentoring program at Perrotis College. Returning to the U.S, Melissa became an associate at the Markle Foundation, where she project managed the launch Skillful Indiana and recruited 26 Governors to join the Skillful State Network.
Melissa began working with students while still a student herself, developing interactive science demonstrations in her hometown for the Academy of Science-St. Louis. After winning Sally Ride’s ToyChallenge engineering design competition and the Discovery Young Scientist Challenge, Melissa created a summer science camp for underserved girls to inspire the next generation of women in STEAM. She continued her advocacy at Pomona College, where she developed the first ever Disability Summit held at The Claremont Colleges, and her efforts were recognized with the Napier Fellowship.
