Designated Approver’s Weekly Update – January 3, 2022

Weekly Action Items

  • RSVP for the DA meeting on 1/11 (invite sent through google calendar)!
  • Prepare the student list for WBL Curriculum (if doing it within a class or advisory setting).
  • Inform CW point person if there is a situation that affects our apprentices dismissal time.
  • Do not send students to create profiles (our HUB is still being updated, we will give you a new date soon)!

Happy New Year! I hope you were able to enjoy your break and time off! 

To start the new year, we have a few asks: 

  1. If your school or classroom goes virtual please do let your CW point person know.
  2. If there is a situation at your school that would affect apprentices dismissal time, let your CW point person know so we can inform their employer. 
  3. RSVP for the DA meeting on 1/11! 

If you have not already, work with your CW point person to get a pitch date on the calendar! We are looking to have a list of students who are fully interested by the start of next semester.  

As an update, Accenture will be virtual for the next two weeks.

Recruitment
In your conversations, let your point person know about your interest in the WBL Curriculum & prepare a list of interested students who would be scheduled for a class or advisory session.

As a reminder: all interested students for the class or the program be vaccinated or willing to be vaccinated by the start of their apprenticeship since employers will require vaccination.

Here is the link to our resources folder. We recently added parent letters that have been translated in Arabic, Bengali , French, and Spanish.

What to look forward to: in-person pitching, employer engagement events, and our WBL- curriculum that will be released for the Spring semester!

Training
There is an Apprentice training on 3/9 for cohort 3 apprentices, scheduled during their working hours.

Cohort 2 (Seniors) Apprentices
Accenture is virtual for the next two weeks. By the end of January all apprentices will have performance evaluations completed. Also, our employer team will be surveying and having 1-1 meetings with the apprentices about their college plans. Any questions about what data we collect, please let us know.

All cohort 2 apprentices should ideally be available to work 1-5pm, Monday-Thursday!  If they are scheduled for a 2pm start time and a 1pm release from school, please do keep that schedule. To view Cohort 2 Employer Schedules, click here

Cohort 3 (Juniors) Apprentices
